The Roger Jackson Bounds Foundation has donated $900 for awards and other expenses related to the Hermiston art show next month.

Jan Beitel, a Umatilla artist and show coordinator, said the top artist will receive $125 and a gold plaque. The artist judged second will receive $75 and a silver plaque. The show is part of the second annual Columbia Basin Bull Breeders Show

Debbie Pedro, executive director of the Hermiston Chamber of Commerce, said the plaques naming winners of the Doris Bounds Memorial Art Awards would hang in the Hermiston Conference Center lobby. The winning artists will be awarded framed certificates with their checks, she said.

The awards are being made in honor of Doris Bounds, the late founder of Inland Empire Bank, which now is part of Banner Bank, Beitel said.
