Helix students compete in state Future Business Leaders competition

<p>Griswold High School students competed at the State FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) competition earlier this month in Portland.</p>

Tucker Wilson of Griswold High School took first place in introduction to business communications during the recent State FBLA competition held April 4-6 in Portland. Wilson, along with Peter Case and Jarred Cope, are now eligible to compete in the National Leadership Conference in June at Anaheim, Calif.

Case qualified for the national contest by placing second in personal finance and Cope placed third in business communications.

FBLA, formerly known as Future Business Leaders of America, is an organization for student leaders preparing for careers in business, management, entrepreneurship and technology.

Other top-ten placers at the state competition include Elizabeth Schatzlein, who placed eighth in personal finance, and Sydney Cave, who was eighth in job interview.

Other Helix students in attendance were Blythe Gabriel, Makenzie Mize and Braden Sprenger. The group’s advisor is Lorin Kubishta.
