A handful of Milton-Freewater jazz musicians took top honors during the 43rd annual Clackamas Community College Jazz Festival.

Held March 13 in Oregon City, Silas Brannan on bass and Aby Hernandez on flute received outstanding soloist awards for their solos with the Central Middle School jazz band. Patrick Dunphy, tuba; Colin Dygert, trumpet; and Diego Romero, piano, received outstanding soloist awards for their performances with the McLoughlin High School jazz ensemble.

The Central jazz band performed “Tenor Madness,” “Georgia on My Mind” and “The Chicken.” The high school jazz ensemble performed “Let the Good Times Roll,” “When I Fall in Love” and “Brass Machine”
