Oregon State University has awarded agricultural honors scholarships to six area students. The scholarships are among $82,555 that have been awarded to students in the College of Agricultural Sciences. The scholarships are made possible by gifts to the college. Area recipients of the 2006 scholarships are:

ARLINGTON: Caitlin Bartlemay, a freshman majoring in food science and technology, received the $750 Walter J. and Florence J. Jaeger Undergraduate Scholarship and the $1,000 Clifford Smith Memorial Agricultural Honors Scholarship.

BOARDMAN: Ruben Mendoza, a freshman majoring in animal sciences, received the $1,500 V. Kent Searles and Nancy J. Billingsley Searles Scholarship.

ECHO: Rebecca Ferge, a freshman majoring in general agriculture, received $1,000 from the John W. DeMuth Jr. Agricultural Sciences Scholarship Fund and the $1,000 Clayton Fox Agricultural Honors Scholarship.

FOSSIL: Kaylee Griffith, a junior majoring in agricultural business management, received the $1,250 Walter J. and Florence J. Jaeger Undergraduate Scholarship.

PENDLETON: Stephanie Cleveland, a freshman majoring in animal sciences, received the $1,000 Ursula Bolt Knaus Scholarship and the $1,000 Naumes Family Agricultural Honors Scholarship.
