Pendleton photographer among honored ArtsEast artists

Debbie McIntosh’s majestic photograph of the Eagle Cap resulted in her being recognized as one of four honored artists during the ArtsEast Biennial 2014.

In addition to the Pendleton woman, others garnering the honor include Kathy Benson of La Grande, Jaime Gustavson of La Grande and Tammy Kinney of Ontario. In addition to $250 cash prizes, award recipients are invited for a group show at the Art Center in the summer of 2015.

The show opened with a festive reception on Aug. 1 at the Art Center at the Old Library in La Grande.

Organizers received 109 entries from 38 artists — 35 of which, from 24 artists, were selected for the exhibit. The other artists for the show are Steve Antell, Wendy Bull, Antonia Carriere, Jack Coelho, Tom Dimond, Darcy Dolge, Mona Dinger, James Dumble, Karen Erickson, Michael Gove, Denise Gravener, Janet Hume-Schwarz, Hillery Lay, Austin McDonald, Zaq Mendenhall, Kendrick Moholt, Linda Peterson, Connie Robbins, Cindy Sitz and Stephen Wadner.

The ArtsEast Biennial 2014 exhibit continues through Saturday, Sept. 27. Hours are Tuesday through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 1006 Penn Ave., La Grande. For more information, call 541-962-3629 or 541-624-2800.
