Kelli McBee is reigning as Miss Oregon Junior Teen for National American Miss, and she's been busy as a bee. She's collected stuffed animals, distributing them to emergency services personnel and other agencies for children in crisis.

"I've distributed hundreds of stuffed animals and books to St. Anthony Hospital, the fire station, Domestic Violence Services and the American Red Cross," she said. The queen also made an appearance in Stanfield's Fourth of July Parade and has plans to read to children at the Pendleton Public Library as well.

She's also got an event planned from 12-1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Children's Museum of Eastern Oregon. Girls of all ages are welcome to attend the Queen's Party she's hosting.

"There will be crown-making, cookie decorating and other fun activities," she said. "Any princesses who want to dress up can help put on a fashion show. All girls are invited to have fun being queen for a day."

The only cost is admission - $3. Members of the museum get in free.
