Several students will ride home for the summer as they received bicycles as part of Armand Larive Middle School's accelerated reading program.

Kyle Naillon, Shaina Kiehler, Mikayla Marks and Becca Evans pedaled home June 1 after their names were drawn at the school's PAW Pride assembly. Additionally, Matthew Cervantes won a Wii.

Cathy Kay, literacy coach and reading teacher, said students earn points by passing tests after reading books. For each point earned, they receive a raffle ticket.

Walmart donated the bicycles. Kay said the Wii was purchased by the students from a walk-a-thon fundraiser held earlier this spring.
