Out-going Morrow County Commissioner Ray Grace was presented with a clock commemorating his years of service to the county. During an informal ceremony Jan. 3, Grace received the unique clock made by Tony Clement, a public works maintenance employee.

Clement crafted the clock from the wood of a tree in Heppner and used glass from the old courthouse clock tower in place of the numbers.

Commissioner John Wenholz and Judge Terry Tallman thanked Grace for his service on the court and to the citizens of the county.

Wenholz jokingly said in a previous Morrow County Court meeting that he had just gotten Grace trained on making motions so he could merely second them. He told Grace he was responsible for training newly-elected Commissioner Ken Grieb to continue the protocol.

Grace plans to spend some of his extra time doing artwork, an interest he put on hold while serving the citizens of Morrow County.
