SALEM — Nominations are being sought to recognize people and organizations who improve safety, quality, affordability and access to child care in Oregon.

The Early Learning Council established the Lynne Angland Award to honor the late child care center owner’s commitment to strengthening Oregon’s next generation. The award shines a light on those who contribute to improving child care and the positive outcomes for children

Lynne Angland, who was a passionate visionary, opened the facility to benefit her employees. She believed that quality child care is vital to creating a dynamic workforce.

Cathy Wamsley, former director of Umatilla-Morrow County Head Start, received the award in 2014.

Nominations must be submitted by Thursday, June 9. For more information and nomination guidelines, visit www.oregonearlylearning.com/nominations-applications. For questions, call 503-947-2516.
