EOBS adds second school to careers coordinator

PENDLETON — Eastern Oregon Business Source announced the addition of Jane Waldher as a School-to-Careers coordinator for the Pendleton School District.

She joins Christina van der Kamp, who is currently the School-to-Careers coordinator for Pendleton High School, and also is involved with the program at the Pilot Rock and Athena-Weston school districts. The School to Careers program helps local business and industry create career-related learning opportunities for high school students.

Waldher has a bachelor’s degree in agribusiness from Colorado State University and worked a number of years for the JR Simplot Company in Boise. She also has extensive experience working with youths, in both the nonprofit sector and in education. Recently, she has been a substitute teacher for the Athena-Weston and Pendleton school districts, a Umatilla County 4-H leader and president of Partners in Education — all while also being a stay-at-home mom. Waldher said she’s excited to re-enter the workforce and help PHS students connect with local and regional employers.
