Held in conjunction with the Krazy Horse Quilt Show, Montana fiber artist Toni Whitney will teach a class.

Known for her striking horse portraits and landscapes, Whitney’s “The Back Forty” class is Friday, May 3 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Pendleton Convention Center, 1601 Westgate. The cost is $45 per person, which also includes admission to the May 4-5 quilt show.

The kit to make this piece is available for purchase for $32. There is some work that needs to be done prior to the class.

An artist with a career as an equine and wildlife painter specializing in acrylic and pastels, Whitney discovered fusible applique. Dabbling in textiles proved to be a thrilling experience that merged easily and effortlessly with painting.

To register for the class, call Pendleton Quiltworks at 541-276-9546. To view the artist’s work, go to www.toniwhitney.com.
