HERMISTON - A minivan stuck a 12-year-old Hermiston child Tuesday, injuring the child's leg. A Hermiston ambulance took the child to Good Shepherd Medical Center.

Hermiston police responded to the incident just after 3:30 p.m. Police said Hermiston resident Desiree Torres, 34, turned south onto Northeast 10th as the 12-year-old attempted to run across the street. According to police, witnesses said the child ran between a bus and pickup and did not check for traffic.

Officials did not release the name of the child, which is public information.

Police didn't give any citations. Parents were notified of the accident from Good Shepherd Medical Center, where the child was treated for the leg injury.
