WALLA WALLA - The Blue Mountain Humane Society is working to build an exercise pen for dogs and is asking for help from individuals and businesses who can donate building supplies, machinery or time. The shelter is holding a work day April 19.

The new pen, called "Project 19" will be a place for dogs to run, play and exercise. It will replace an old pen with four new 10-foot wide dog runs, each connect together by an inner door. It will provide a space where dogs can be let off their leashes to socialize, but still be in a safe place.

For more information, or to volunteer help, contact Blue Mountain Humane Society at (509) 529-5188.
