March is national Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month.

With this in mind, The Arc of Umatilla County has scheduled two workshops providing the community with an opportunity to learn more about caregiving and Tourette Syndrome.

A caregiver workshop, Powerful Tools in Caregiving, sponsored by Legacy Caregiver Services, will begin March 1 and continue for six consecutive weeks in Pendleton. For more information, call Veronica Wilson at 276-4158.

Understanding Tourette Syndrome Workshop, a community program, will begin at 7 p.m. Monday, March 24, at The Arc building, 215 W. Orchard in Hermiston. The multi-media program will deal specifically with Tourette Syndrome and related disorders. The session is open to the public.

For more information, call The Arc office at 567-7615 or e-mail
