HERMISTON - Police warn people to be aware when warming up their cars and trucks as the weather gets colder. The Hermiston Police Department sees an increase in thefts around this time each year as people leave cars unattended while they are warming them up.

Chief Daniel Coulombe also reminds citizens there are three sides to the crime triangle: An offender, a victim and a location and opportunity. He urges people to remove the location and opportunity from the triangle to reduce the chances of these thefts taking place.
