BEAVERTON - Police are investigating a stabbing that left an 18-year-old man in critical condition.

Detective Sgt. James Shumway said the victim and another man were walking late Monday when a car stopped. Three men got out of the vehicle and asked about their gang affiliation.

All three suspects then chased the 18-year-old, pushed him to the ground and stabbed him in the upper torso four or five times.

Shumway said early today the victim is in critical but stable condition at Oregon Health & Science University Hospital.
