PENDLETON - CAPECO, Community Action Program East Central Oregon, will offer the "Better Renter" classes in Pendleton at the end of June.

The classes are a series of five weekly courses that cover topics pertinent to getting into and keeping safe, decent and affordable housing.  The classes will talk about budgeting, credit reports, how to overcome negative rental history, what landlords are looking for, how to write a letter of explanation, problems solving and conflict resolution with neighbors and landlords and more. After attending all five classes, participants receive a certificate of completion to include with rental applications.

CAPECO can have up to 20 participants in a class and must have at least five sign up to hold the class. The first session will be June 29 at 9:30 a.m. in the Community Room at Pendleton City Hall, 500 S.W. Dorion Ave.

To register, contact  Jennifer Richards at 541-289-7755 or at 800-752-1139.
