NEW ORLEANS, Louis. — Blue Mountain Community College’s Carrie Swanson is one of 10 U.S. educators honored in New Orleans this week by the International Dyslexia Association.

Because of her work with students with disabilities, Swanson will receive the 2013 Robert and Eleanor Hall Memorial Scholarship, which rewards educators with innovative instructional strategies for dyslexic students.

Swanson fills many roles at BMCC as an educational diagnostician, special education provider and teacher.
