PENDLETON - Umatilla County's Cattlemen and CattleWomen are planning two get-togethers in December.

The Cattlemen and CattleWomen will hold their annual meetings Saturday, Dec. 14, at the Pendleton Convention Center.

The meeting has a new format for this year. The afternoon will include a session titled "Where will the Beef Industry be in two years?" The program will feature local speaker Diane Bryne of the Oregon Beef Council, as well as nationally known speakers Randy Block of Cattle-Fax and Pete Crow of the Western Livestock Journal.

Tickets for the luncheon and meeting are $10 before Dec. 10 and $12 after that date.

The annual Cattlemen's Ball will be held Saturday, Dec. 28, at the Red Lion Inn in Pendleton. A roast sirloin of beef will be prepared for the occasion by the Red Lion chef. A drawing will also be held for a pair of silver spurs and a silver bit.

The evening will be topped off with comedic and musical entertainment provided by the Joe Stoddard Show. Tickets for the event are $20 prior to Dec. 10 and $25 after that time.

The Red Lion Inn also offers a special room rate of $49 to those attending the event.
