The Ukiah City Council approved a 2009-10 budget of $605,684, including an anticipated $94,000 in federal stimulus

The council passed the budget at its June meeting. The budget includes $13,000 in property taxes based on a tax rate of $2.68 per $1,000.

The city is considering installing a donation box at the sewer dump station and plans to accept another 100,000 gallons of sewage from Lehman Hot Springs.

The council also is accepting applications to fill council position No. 4 for the remainder of the term.

In other business, the council:

n Accepted surplus property bids of $150 for the old ambulance and $359.99 for a Chevy pickup.

n Voted to purchase a new John Deere riding lawnmower for $8,000.

The next Ukiah City Council meeting will be Tuesday, July 7, at 7 p.m. at the Ukiah Senior Center.
