PENDLETON — Mary A. Johnson has opened a counseling service in Pendleton specializing in helping people deal with loss.

“My expertise is grief and loss,” Johnson said in written statement. “including loss through death, loss of a job, loss of a pet, loss of health, loss of independence or loss of a relationship.”

Johnson also said her “sub-specialty is counseling persons who have lost a relative or friend to suicide.”

Johnson said she practiced for 13 years in Albuquerque, N.M., before recently moving to Pendleton.
