PENDLETON - Lisa Reynolds is almost half of her former self, and while she continues to become healthier and more fit, she's offering to help others do the same.

Reynolds and her husband, Jake, have opened Reynolds Fitness, a new business that helps people improve their health and lifestyle.

"We help people to become optimally fit and healthy through exercise and diet," she said, adding that she and her husband help clients develop individual exercise regimes and diet plans.

Jake has more than 30 years experience in physical education and personal training and has been tested by the American Council on Exercise, Lisa said. While he's the expert, she is the testimonial.

"He calls me his motivator," she said.

Lisa has lost 172 pounds in the past four years, starting when she weighed 373.

"Serious health problems scared me awake" she said. "Now I've learned how to eat right and I've learned how to exercise right. The biggest problem was learning how to eat and how not to eat for comfort."

Just getting started, the Reynoldses are working from their Pendleton home, where they invite clients to meet with them for consultations.

"We do make house calls," Lisa said, adding that people don't need expensive equipment to get a good exercise workout. She filled one-liter bottles with sugar and used them for free weights, for example.
