MEACHAM - A woman traveling on Interstate 84 fell asleep at the wheel and her vehicle rolled and landed in a ditch Monday morning. She was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

According to a report from Trooper Amy Ford of Oregon State Police, Caitlyn Selby Powell, 29, of Laramie, Wyo., fell asleep while driving eastbound on I-84 at milepost 228 at around 11:30 a.m. The car went off the roadway and struck a guardrail, a road sign and a tree, rolled once and came to a stop.

Powell was transported by ambulance to St. Anthony Hospital in Pendleton, where she was treated and released.

The 1999 black Toyota Corolla Powell was driving was totaled. The airbag deployed and Powell had been wearing a seat belt.
