The East Oregonian took home four first place honors including the top prize — General Excellence — at the Oregon Newspaper Publishers Association conference in Bend.

The EO has won the top prize in the competition in seven of the past eight years. Its division is for daily Oregon newspapers with circulations less than 10,000.

Photojournalist E.J. Harris earned two individual top honors for work done in 2017, including for best feature photo and best sports photo. And former intern Emily Olson won the top spot for best story for her piece about cowboy names.

The newspaper also won numerous second and third place awards.
