HERMISTON - Eastern Oregon Telecom recently named Joseph Franell as its new CEO, the Hermiston-based company announced last month.

Franell came to Eastern Oregon in October 2008, when he began working as EOT's general manager there. Before that he worked for the city of Ashland as its director of information technology.

Franell has also served as a senior manager at Knology Broadband of Florida, Inc., a communications company based in the southeastern United States. He'll be a featured speaker at this summer's Small Cities Council, a national gathering to be hosted by Hermiston in July.
