Emily Olson has joined the East Oregonian staff for a summer internship.
In partnership with the Charles Snowden Internship Program, Olson will spend ten weeks with the newspaper.
She is based in Pendleton and will cover the Umatilla County Fair, work on the Pendleton Round-Up magazine and cover local spot news.
Olson, 22, is currently working toward her master’s degree in the University of Oregon’s School of Journalism and Communication. She has a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of the Pacific in Stockton, Calif.
Olson said she is looking forward to living in Pendleton, the smallest city she has ever called home.
“I’m really excited about that opportunity,” she said.
In her free time Olson runs, reads and cooks. She also said she is looking forward to picking up some new hobbies after spending a summer in Eastern Oregon.
To contact Olson, email her at eolson@eastoregonian.com or call 541-966-0809.
