Fundraisers scheduled for shooting victim

Two fundraisers are scheduled to help pay for the medical bills of Erik Navarrete Campos.

Navarrete Campos was shot early Monday morning at his residence in the 500 block of Hartley Avenue in Hermiston and remains in the hospital in critical condition. Police have not announced any arrests or persons of interest in the case.

Family and friends of Navarrete Campos are having two car washes this weekend to raise money for his medical expenses. He is a lifelong Hermiston resident. Donations received at the car wash will help his parents with his medical expenses.

One car wash will be begin 9 a.m. Saturday in the parking lot across from the Hermiston Post Office at 375 W. Orchard Ave., and the other will begin at 9 a.m. on Sunday at Smitty’s ACE Hardware, 1845 N. First St., in Hermiston.
