PORTLAND - The historic Columbia Gorge Hotel is expected to reopen next month.

ShoreBank Pacific has retained a hotel management company to run the Hood River property that closed in January.

No one bid on the place during a foreclosure auction last month, so the bank continues to own it while seeking a buyer.

Members of the hotel management told The Oregonian they will consider honoring gift certificates that were issued before the abrupt closure.
