ATHENA - A Umatilla County grand jury has indicted two women suspected of stealing funds from Triangle Little League, District Attorney Dean Gushwa said Thursday.

Carla Rae Salter was indicted on one count of first-degree aggravated theft, allegedly taking more than $10,000, and one count of first-degree theft, allegedly taking a value between $1,000 and $5,000.

LaShelle Gay Mustafa, was indicted on one count of first-degree theft, which is theft of a value between $5,000 and $10,000.

Gushwa said he could not be more specific on the amount of money allegedly taken.

Salter was the Triangle Little League president and Mustafa was the treasurer. According to Triangle Little League board minutes from Nov. 5, 2006, Salter admitted taking $6,000. Also, the minutes say Mustafa's records said Salter took $7,344.37 and that Mustafa admitted taking $3,185.63.

The grand jury indicted the pair Wednesday and their arraignment date has yet to be set.
