JOHN?DAY — Area, road and trail closures will go into effect this fall for a 4,000 acre prescribed burn - called the “Gulliford Burn” on the north fork of the John Day river, west of State Highway 395 between forest roads 5308 and 5314.

The Gulliford Burn could occur any time between September through early November, depending on weather and fuel conditions, and will likely last 2 to 5 days. Umatilla National Forest officials advise avoiding any camping or hunting in the area during this time.
