HELIX - The Helix School Board will soon pick the architect to design the building that will house kindergarten and special education, paid for by a bond approved by voters last November.

On Jan. 26, a committee made up of School Board Member Jim Williams, three facility members Gunder Terjeson, Matt Wood and Scott Harper, program manger David McKay and Superintendent Darrick Cope. Cope said the committee reviewed nine architect proposals over the course of a very long day. On Feb. 5, the committee will interview its top four choices and decide on the architect it will recommend to the school board.

At the Feb. 11 board meeting, Cope expects the board to approve the recommendation.

The preliminary bonds will be sold Feb. 26 and March 12 is the bond closing date.
