If parents have anything on their mind about their child’s school, Hermiston School District wants to hear about it.

The district is gathering feedback during the month of November through an online survey and series of community meetings.

“Responses will assist the district in focusing on those areas our community believes to be most important,” Dr. Fred Maiocco, who has been superintendent in Hermiston for seven years, said in a statement.

The community meetings will be held Nov. 12 at 4:30 p.m. in the Sunset Elementary School library, Nov. 19 at 7:30 a.m. in the Hermiston School District Office boardroom and Nov. 19 at 6:30 p.m. in the Sandstone Middle School library.

Maiocco and school board chair Karen Sherman will host the meetings, which will include a brief presentation about the district and an informal question and answer session.

Parents, students, staff and other community members are also encouraged to take an online survey found at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/5HTYQLQ. The survey is anonymous and should take about 15 minutes to complete. It will be online until Nov. 20.
