PENDLETON — InterMountain Education Service District speech-language pathologist Amy Martin is stepping up to a new role.
The Oregon’s Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology elected Martin as its chair. As such, she will be heading a board that regulates the practice of audiology and speech-language pathology in Oregon.
According to an IMESD press release, Martin has served on the board as a member and vice-chair for two years.
"I hope to lead the board of examiners well, while protecting the clientele and consumers of speech-language pathology and audiology and preserving our profession across the state," Martin said in the press release.
Tonya Smith, IMESD director of regional, related and speech services, said she was happy about having representation on the BOE from a professional in Eastern Oregon.
Martin has worked as a speech-language pathologist for 13 years, three years in Nevada and since then at IMESD.
