The Oregon Department of Transportation has closed the westbound Interstate 84 lanes between La Grande and Pendleton because of numerous crashes and blocked lanes in the mountain pass area of the highway. The westbound lanes are closed between mile points 265 in La Grande and mile point 216 in Pendleton. The eastbound lanes are currently open.

At this time there is no estimate as to when the I-84 westbound lanes will re-open. Travelers are advised to use alternate routes if available.

Oregon Highway 204 between Weston and Elgin is currently open with packed snow and snow flurries. Travelers using this alternate route need to carry chains or have traction tires on their vehicle and are cautioned to be prepared for severe winter conditions.

Road and weather conditions can change at any moment and travelers are reminded to continually check for updates by visiting TripCheck.com on the Web, or by calling 511 or (800) 977-6368.
