PORTLAND - Gov. Ted Kulongoski ordered all flags at public institutions to be flown at half-staff on Saturday, in memory of Pfc. Cody J. Eggleston.

The 21-year-old from Redmond died last week from injuries sustained Oct. 16 during combat in Iraq. He joined the Army in July 2007, not long after his graduation from North Eugene Alternative High School

The governor said Eggleston served with honor and "his sacrifice for our nation will never be forgotten."
