HERMISTON - A party prank ended with five arrests early Monday morning after one drinker poured beer inside an ambulance and revelers assaulted a police officer.
After paramedics were dispatched to a house across the street from the party, one person snuck over and poured beer in the ambulance. When paramedics discovered the mess they called police.
When police attempted to arrest one suspect, other partygoers got involved in the fracas, resulting in the multiple arrests, said Lt. Greg Anderson.
"It was just something that got out of hand," Anderson said.
None of the officers were hurt. The patient who called the ambulance refused transport.
Hermiston police arrested and cited for disorderly conduct: Casey Horn, 22, of Umatilla; Lindsay Dahlin, 20, of Hermiston; Richard Valle, 28, of Hermiston; and Allison Dahlin, 22, of Hermiston.
Valle and Lindsay Dahlin also were charged with interfering with a peace officer. Horn and Lindsay Dahlin were charged additionally with resisting arrest, second-degree criminal mischief and assaulting a peace officer, and Horn was charged with unauthorized entry of a motor vehicle.
A minor also was arrested for possession by consumption.
There was no significant damage done to the ambulance, although fire department officials said it needed to be aired out overnight.
