PENDLETON - A jury convicted a 20-year-old man of rape and sex abuse Thursday in Umatilla County Circuit Court.
Sentencing is scheduled for Monday morning.
Colton Lamar Calhoun was found guilty of first-degree rape, and second- and third-degree sex abuse after the jury deliberated for about two and a half hours.
Calhoun's trial began Monday with jury selection and opening statements in Judge Dan Hill's courtroom.
Though Calhoun will be sentenced Monday morning at 8 a.m., he'll be back in court Tuesday for another trial, where the District Attorney's office will attempt to convict him on several other charges stemming from a second alleged rape incident.
That case accuses Calhoun of first-degree rape, three counts of first-degree sex abuse, two counts of second-degree sex abuse, coercion, tampering with a witness, menacing and stalking.
Both cases stem from several incidents involving a women and a girl Calhoun knows, Deputy District Attorney Kristi Hagey has said. Those incidents allegedly took place last summer. Each victim's case is being tried separately.
