Winter weather has led to the cancellation of school Wednesday in the Pendleton and Helix school districts, as well as at Harris Jr. Academy and the Lifeways Day Treatment program in Pendleton. Schools in Heppner and Ione are on a two-hour delay.

All Kayak inter-city bus routes that start in Pendleton were canceled, but the Hermiston Area Regional Transit line started at 9 a.m. and is running as usual.

Due to dangerous road conditions, some EO newspaper carriers are unable to deliver to all their customers this morning. The weather is predicted to worsen throughout the day, so some subscribers may not get their Wednesday papers until tomorrow (assuming the weather is better then).

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for the area, including up to three inches of snow and a quarter of an inch of ice. The advisory is in place from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
