PENDLETON —Eugene Conrad Machado, 24, is serving 30 days in the Umatilla County Jail, Pendleton, after he admitted in circuit court last week to domestic violence against a woman.

Machado pleaded guilty May 2 to committing domestic assault and strangulation against the woman on Jan. 12. He also pleaded guilty to breaking into her residence on March 30 and assaulting, strangling and threatening her a second time.

In addition to the jail time, Umatilla County Circuit Court Judge Lynn Hampton ordered Machado must undergo treatment for domestic abuse and serve five years probation. He also has to pay $1,250 in court fees, complete 160 hours of community service and not have any contact with the woman he attacked.
