Pendleton Realtors elect Garton

PENDLETON — The Umatilla County Board of Realtors has elected Travis Garton as president for 2011.

Garton is employed at Garton & Associates Realtors.

Other officers for 2011 are Kristine Taylor of Garton & Associates Realtors, president elect; Carol Jackson, Premier Properties, three-year director; Glenn Gaboury, Coldwell Banker Whitney & Associates, two-year director; Lynn Smith of Pendleton Southgate Realty,  one-year director; Marsha Morgan, Coldwell Banker Whitney & Associates, state director, and Dawndi Johnson, Pendleton Southgate Realty, executive officer.

Garton said he intends to continue the emphasis on education that past-president Kerri Baird started.

“I will also make attempt to make the real estate classes fun for all of the Realtors and other members of the Umatilla county board,” he said.

Garton studied marketing and finance at the University of Idaho in Moscow. He graduated from Pendleton High School in 1996, having been born and raised in Pendleton.

In his spare time, Garton coaches youth football, soccer and baseball. and high school baseball.

“I love working with the kids and giving back to the community,” he said.

He and his wife, Jackie, have a 15-month old son, Grayden.

Garton and Associates is a family business with his brother Shane; uncle Scott and father, Kal.
