PENDLETON - A spring clean-up is scheduled Wednesday, April 20, with help from Pendleton city workers and community volunteers.

Workers will load and dispose of trash and debris for senior citizens or handicapped individuals who need assistance, according to City Manager Larry Lehman. Those who need help should call the city at 966-0220 by noon Friday, April 15. Callers are asked to give their name, address, and a description of the material to be removed.

Teams (two people and a pick-up or truck) or individuals who would like to volunteer to pick up material should also call City Hall at 966-0220.

Lehman said anyone who has old vehicles or parts of old vehicles may dispose of them by calling Blue Mountain Towing at 278-9033. The business will haul vehicles away for $50, which includes the lost title and other paper work that may be needed. During the week of April 18, Lehman said, the city will pay half of the cost for vehicle removal.

Pendleton Sanitary Service has mailed a coupon to each resident and business that has normal garbage service. It is good for one free trash and garbage disposal up to 1,000 pounds through April 23, 2005.

Lehman encourages customers to use this opportunity to get rid of junk that may have accumulated during winter.
