PILOT ROCK — A Pilot Rock-area man is serving 10 days in jail after taking a plea deal Thursday in a child pornography case.

Richard Lee Rowe, 51, pleaded guilty in Morrow County Circuit Court to one count of second-degree encouraging child sexual abuse. Judge Lynn Hampton sentenced Rowe to 10 days in the Umatilla County Jail, Pendleton.

The Morrow County District Attorney’s Office in exchange for the deal dropped charges of using a child in a display of sexually explicit conduct and attempted rape.

Court records show Rowe committed the crime against a girl in December 2014. Rowe’s sentence also includes two years probation and he must register as a sex offender.
