TOLLGATE - A project to expand winter parking at Morning Creek Snow Park will close the site for the entire month of July.

Officials aim to increase capacity at the parking area to accommodate large vehicles and trailers that have come in greater numbers recently, according to Walla Walla District Ranger Mike Rassbach. Parking demand now exceeds capacity at the park three miles east of Tollgate and first constructed in the mid-1990s.

The area will be closed to public access while heavy equipment operates within the park. Dump trucks will also travel Highway 204 nearby.

The work is slated to begin July 1, lasting until July 31.
