BROOKFIELD, WIS. - RDO Equipment Co., one of the largest farm equipment dealership groups in North America, has been chosen as the 2009 "Best-in-Class Farm Equipment Dealership of the Year" by Farm Equipment magazine.

The company, based in Fargo, N.D., has more than 130 dealerships across North America, including Pendleton and Hermiston.

Farm Equipment, based in Brookfield, Wis., presents its "Dealership of the Year" awards annually to farm equipment dealerships in two categories: one for those with $50 million and under in annual revenues and one for dealers generating more than $50 million annually.

RDO Equipment Co. earned the distinction in the larger category this year not only for its outstanding financial results, but particularly for its employee-training and development programs.

Founded in 1968 by Ron Offutt, RDO Equipment Co. has grown to become the largest John Deere dealership group in North America with 54 stores and more than 1,400 employees.

Farm Equipment magazine profiled the winners of its Dealerships of the Year in the cover story of its July/August 2009 edition. The complete article can be seen at
