PENDLETON - Downtown Pendleton was among the places regionally where precipitation fell Sunday.

Weather observers at the Pendleton Fire Department recorded .73 inches of rain Sunday, besting the .65 inches recorded that day in 1899.

Rainfall for downtown Pendleton and a number of other regional sites where records were broken Sunday were not posted by the National Weather Service until after deadline Monday.

In addition to Meacham, which had a record 1.17 inches Sunday, records were set in:

•Elgin, with 1.4 inches (previous record .56 inches, 1989)

•La Grande, .74 inches (.28 inches, 1989)

•Union, .63 inches (.28 inches, 1983).
