LEXINGTON - Crews will begin chip sealing a 12-mile section of Highway 207 near the Umatilla and Morrow County line Tuesday, according to the Oregon Department of Transportation.

The project will stretch along the highway between mile point 19.6 and Interstate 84 at Exit 182, according to ODOT. Weather permitting, it's scheduled for completion by Friday, Sept. 11.

ODOT advises drivers to expect loose gravel at the construction area, and prepare for delays of up to 20 minutes during day and night hours.

The chip seal work is intended to extend the life of the pavement on the highway.
