PENDLETON - Tom Melton and J.J. Ford were presented this year's Round-Up Appreciation plaques at the group's annual meeting Tuesday. Melton and Ford, of KUMA Radio, were recognized for their efforts in promoting the Round-Up during their daily morning show "The Sunrise Edition."

"I don't think a day went by when we didn't hear something about Round-Up, Happy Canyon, the concert and PBR," said Round-Up Publicity Director Butch Thurman. "They did a tremendous job of promoting our events."

Also during the meeting, Troy LeGore, Fred John Livingston, Steve McMillan, Marv Anderson, Steve Corey and Tom Weeks were honored for 25 years of volunteer service to the Round-Up.

The Round-Up Association board of directors leaves today to attend the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association annual Convention and National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas. Several of the directors will be attending Thursday's annual PRCA Awards Banquet, which will be held at the Mirage Hotel and Casino. The Pendleton Round-Up has been nominated as the 2003 Large Outdoor Rodeo of the Year.
