The Pendleton Whisky semitrailer Tuesday delivers an annual shipment of the eponymously named spirit to the Pendleton Mixer & Cigar.

This is the third year Hood River Distillers in Hood River directly sent a semitrailer loaded with the Canadian blended whisky to Pendleton. Inspectors with the Oregon Liquor Control Commission monitored the transportation from start to finish.

The long trailer carried 12 pallets holding 1,054 cases containing 8,472 bottles. That was a decrease from last year's 1,206 cases holding 9,384 bottles, but well above the first direct shipment in 2007, which was 950 cases and 8,160 bottles.

Store owner Greg Roland said because the annual rodeo is a little late this year he'll have time to bring in more stock if this batch runs out.

A fifth of Pendleton retails for $27.45 at the Pendleton liquor store.
