MISSION - It's been a fast-paced three weeks for Donald Sampson, the newly arrived executive director of the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation.

Sampson, 42, grew up in the Pendleton area and has returned to his home reservation after six years on the west side of the state where he worked with the Columbia River Intertribal Fish Commission, serving four of those years as executive director.
