IRRIGON - Experts on sheltering in place want to meet with people who have concerns about the process of hiding in a room during a potential accident at the Umatilla Chemical Depot.

During several upcoming events, people from the National Institute for Chemical Studies will be in the area beginning Friday through Tuesday, and again on June 21-25. They want to raise awareness of sheltering in place. To schedule an appointment with them, call 922-4437.

They will also be available at:

*Cinco de Mayo, Boardman Marina Park. Saturday, 12 p.m.-6 p.m.

*Cinco de Mayo, MacKenzie Park, Hermiston. Sunday, 12 p.m.-6 p.m.

*Senior lunch, Stokes Landing Community Center, Irrigon. 11:40 a.m.-1 p.m.
